SOUTHWEST (WALB) - Several bridge replacement and resurfacing contracts for parts of Southwest Georgia were awarded in October, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
The largest contract will resurface about 17 miles of Interstate 75 from the Florida state line to north of US 84/State Route 38 in Lowndes County, GDOT said.
The work for the about $31 million contract is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.
In Colquitt County, an about $1.9 million contract was awarded or a bridge replacement on Moultrie Lenox Road over Gum Creek. The work is scheduled to be completed in winter of 2026, GDOT said.
