COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Bo Sprunger, a former Colquitt County firefighter, has lost his battle with brain cancer, according to a Facebook post by his family.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, his family posted that he “went to be with the Lord early this morning.”

A Facebook group called “Battle with Bo” was created to keep family, friends and the community updated during his fight with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

According to a Facebook post on Oct. 13, Sprunger served as a career firefighter and volunteer firefighter in Colquitt County for many years.

He also spent many years at Cranford Jewelers where he repaired jewelry.
