The Michigan State Spartans only have one more opportunity to try and stop their slide.
Since the Spartans finished up an undefeated nonconference slate, they’ve dropped eight straight games to Big Ten opponents and are now at risk of their first winless season in conference play since 1958.
The only thing standing in the way is another struggling roster in the conference — the Maryland Terrapins.
Since starting 4-0 and besting Wisconsin on the road, the Terps have lost seven consecutive games and are among the worst in the conference.
Both MSU coach Jonathan Smith and Maryland coach Mike Locksley have been under fire this season, but only Locksley has received a vote of confidence in returning for next season.
