OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A 20-year-old man was hospitalized after he was thrown from his vehicle in a crash, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said.

The two-vehicle collision happened around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in Georgetown Township.

Police said a 16-year-old Hudsonville boy was driving a GMC Sierra west on Chicago Drive and failed to stop for a red light.

The teen driver struck a Chevrolet Blazer, driven by a 20-year-old man, that was traveling south on Cottonwood Drive near Chicago.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle, police said. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported.
