A man in his 50s has died following a serious crash on the A303 in Somerset.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on the A303 between Sparkford and Wincanton on Saturday just after 2pm. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were taken to hospital. One of them is believed to be in life-threatening condition, another remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the third has since been discharged.

A stretch of the A303 was completely closed after the crash, with National Highways putting diversion routes in place to allow emergency services, including the air ambulance, to work safely at the scene, Somerset Live reports.
