Trade talks surrounding Lauri Markkanen have intensified again, generating buzz among fans of both teams. The Utah Jazz are now linked to the Detroit Pistons, and the discussion centers on one young player Detroit does not want to move, raising major interest online.

In a recent report from Jake Fischer, the Jazz are seemingly willing to acquire Ausar Thompson from the Detroit Pistons if a trade involving Marakkanen happens. However, the latter team doesn’t really want to let go of their namesake “Thompson twin.”

“Another likely obstacle that should be factored into the persistent Markkanen-to-Detroit speculation: Utah would almost certainly want Thompson in return. Sources say that the Jazz, considered trading up to select him during the 2023 NBA Draft,” the report read.
