Antony had attempted an overhead kick as Betis chased a winner, only to kick Girona's Joel Roca in the face with his acrobatics.
After initially escaping punishment, the 25-year-old was dismissed after the referee had been sent to the pitchside monitor.
It is the fourth red card of his career and his second for Betis.
