Landman’ s season 1 finale featured a number of big twists, such as Monty’s (Jon Hamm) heart attack (and subsequent death) and the cartel’s kidnapping of Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton). But one of the quieter moments was just as powerful: For Ariana (Paulina Chávez), the episode served as a pivotal part of grieving her late husband, Elvio (Alejandro Akara).

We watched as Ariana cleaned out his things and looked at her wedding photos. Despite the difficult task, she also started to move forward with her life. She told Cooper (Jacob Lofland), Elvio’s former coworker, whom she leaned on after his death, that she was ready to pursue a relationship with him.
