WASHINGTON — Parents are being urged to check their homes after a popular brand of play yards was recalled due to a potentially deadly safety risk.

Infants could become trapped under the mattress or between the sides of the play yard, prompting federal officials to issue an urgent warning.

About 70 play yards sold online by Guangzhou Tinger Trading Co. Ltd., doing business as Anna Queen, have been recalled due to a serious suffocation hazard, federal officials announced Wednesday.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the play yards violate the mandatory standard for play yards.

Infants can become trapped under the mattress or between the side of the play yard and the mattress, posing a risk of serious injury or death. No injuries have been reported.
