The Bruins appear to be getting some help up front.
The B’s activated Elias Lindholm from injured reserve prior to their game against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday (8 pm) and, to make room for him on the roster, placed defenseman Charlie McAvoy (facial injury) on the IR (retroactive to November 15).
Lindholm’’s return would be a boost to a forward unit that has been down three top-six forwards (Viktor Arvidsson and Casey Mittelstadt remain out) as well as a fourth liner (Jeffrey Viel).
Lindholm has been out of the lineup since suffering a knee injury against the Buffalo Sabres on October 30.
Lindholm has 4-5-9 totals in 13 games.
