DETROIT. (WILX) - The Detroit Lions were able to grit out a victory at home with a 34-27 win over New York at Ford Field.
The Giants got the ball rolling first when Jameis Winston connected with Wan’Dale Robinson for the 39-yard touchdown to give New York a 7-0 lead.
New York added to its lead with a 21-yard field goal from Younghoe Koo to make it 10-0 Giants heading into the second quarter.
Jared Goff got Detroit on the board with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown to cut the Lions’ deficit to 10-7.
The Giants answered back with a Winston touchdown pass to Isaiah Hodgins for the 12-yard score to make it 17-7 New York.
Jahmyr Gibbs would find the end zone six minutes later on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Goff. Both teams would then trade field goals to make it 20-17 headin
