Large crowds at Pittsburgh’s annual Light Up Night led to several fights and a few arrests Saturday night.
There were no major incidents reported, but “incredibly large crowds” throughout Downtown led to police responding to a number of fights and skirmishes, according to Public Safety spokeswoman Emily Bourne.
Large crowds of teenagers congregated near the corner of Wood Street and Forbes Avenue and in Market Square. Several fights occurred in those areas and police issued dispersal orders, Ms. Bourne said.
In total, 18 non-traffic citations were issued and three people were arrested. Exact charges for those arrested were not released Sunday afternoon and it was not clear if those arrested were minors.
