A man died after he was struck and run over by a vehicle in Allentown on Friday, Nov. 21, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office announced on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The victim, a 29-year-old man from Allentown, was hit in the 2000 block of South 4th Street at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, according to the release. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m. the same day.
An autopsy and radiology exams are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 24, at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center, officials said. Investigators from the Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are also handling the case.
The man has been positively identified, and his family has been notified, but his name is being withheld to allow them time to grieve, the coroner said. No additional information will be released until after the autopsy is completed.
