Despite the loss, the game remained competitive throughout its duration, with the Bengals continuing to mount an unsuccessful offensive push to take back the lead up until the game's final minute.
However, the team's offense was hampered in the fourth quarter after wide receiver Tee Higgins was removed early from the game. The team later confirmed that Higgins had suffered a concussion.
The Bengals got out to an early lead in the first quarter by scoring a field goal, and backing it up with a touchdown early in the second quarter.
