Going into the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs trailed by 11 in a game they desperately needed to win to stay alive in the AFC playoff hunt.
And as they have done so many times in the Patrick Mahomes era, the Chiefs found a way to win.
A touchdown run from Kareem Hunt and subsequent two-point conversion on a pass to Rashee Rice cut Indianapolis' lead to three. Mahomes then led a 87-yard drive that culminated with a game-tying field goal from Harrison Butker to force the game into overtime.
It was in overtime that Kansas City truly looked like a playoff-bound team. Kansas City's defense stuffed Jonathan Taylor on a 3rd-and-1 run to get the ball back to Mahomes.
