A lighter agenda will be before Weyburn City Council this evening.

Beginning with a conversation about the new Recreation Facilities Tax Levy Bylaw, that council approved for development at the November 10 meeting. Funds collected through the tax levy will apply to the costs of maintaining, renovating, expanding, or establishing new recreation facilities, including the new indoor pool.

Communications coordinator for the City of Weyburn, Paige Tenbult, highlights that the levy will also be an asset to other projects.

“The recreation levy is really sort of a long-term plan for us to ensure that we are able to maintain existing facilities, build new facilities and just all around that sort of recreation infrastructure.”

Council will decide on a specific dollar amount to apply to the levy,
