King Charles could be set to travel to the US to mark the 250th anniversary of the country next year, it has been reported. It will mark his first visit since 2018, when he represented Queen Elizabeth II at George H. W. Bush's funeral.
Granted that the King's health allows him to travel, US President Donald Trump will host His Majesty during the lavish State Visit in April 2026 . Sources in both Washington DC and London told the Sun that negotiations are taking place for the visit, which will likely see Queen Camilla accompany her husband .
The trip will take place in the run-up to America's July 4 Independence Day celebrations.
