OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A former state senator is launching an exploratory committee to run for Governor of Nebraska.

Lynne Walz made the announcement in a news release and on social media Monday morning. In the release, Walz says she will be touring the state and speaking with residents.

“Democrats, Republicans and Independents. We need your input. I hope to see you at an event in your community soon,” Walz writes.

Walz served in the Nebraska Legislature from 2017 until this year. She was the representative for District 15 , which covers Dodge County and a small portion of western Douglas County.
