BRAWLEY — Brawley Union High School students helped make Thanksgiving a little easier for 30 of their fellow students and their families. This year, they collected more than 800 items as part of a two-week Thanksgiving drive, coordinated through the school’s community school program.

Community School Program Coordinator Dalia Escutia said the effort ran from November 3 to November 17. “Last year we collected 354 items, and this year we collected 354 items, which made it easier for us to help more families,” she said in a phone call with Imperial Valley Press.
