EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Ascension St. Vincent is making sure students are fed over Thanksgiving break away from school.

The BackPack Food for Kids Program helps families who are struggling with food insecurity.

Ascension leaders, along with the help of the Tri-State Food Bank, stopped by Cedar Hall Elementary School today to deliver food boxes.

The bags include full meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus drinks and snacks.

“We have had a lot of families that have had a reduction and snap benefits lately, and families that don’t normally ask for help are now asking.
