EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A big chunk of money is coming to Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana.
The group has been selected to receive a READI 2.0 grant of $1,750,000.
The money will be used to help build the new JA Discovery Center.
Officials broke ground on that project last week to start building a 24,000 square-foot learning facility.
It will soon serve 4th through 12th grade students, helping prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
“Not only is it a financial boost to the work that we’re doing, but it’s also kind of a seal of approval that we are doing work that has true impact in this region and will make a long-term difference,” said Junior Achievement President Angie Richards Cheek.
Construction on the Discovery Center will be finished sometime next year.
