Since early this month, traffic has been flowing on the newly opened 5.8 kilometres of twinning on Highway 39 and a roundabout installed at the intersection of Highways 39 and 13. The $29 million project was completed nearly a full year ahead of schedule.

Work on the roundabout began in early 2025 and involved relocating gas, phone, and power utilities, establishing a temporary detour, grading, concrete work, and paving. It was completed in early November.

The twinning portion of the project began in spring of this year and involved grading and paving work. It was completed shortly after the roundabout.
