Women entrepreneurs across Saskatchewan are getting a new tool to navigate the often-intimidating world of business law. Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK) has launched Know Your Business: Legal Foundations for Entrepreneurs, a free program designed to make legal knowledge clear, practical, and accessible for business owners at any stage.

Funded through a grant from the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, the program responds to a growing need. Legal challenges are a common barrier for small businesses. A 2022 Canadian survey found that seven in 10 small businesses faced a legal issue in the past three years, with three in 10 business owners knowing someone who had to close their business because of legal problems.
