Dairy drinks will be hit by the soft drinks levy and private funding will be used to help with the development of hundreds of new GP led health centres.

These policies have been announced ahead of the 2025 budget, to be revealed in full tomorrow.

In what has been dubbed the “milkshake tax” ministers announced the soft drinks levy would be extended to packaged milkshakes, sweetened yoghurt drinks, and ready-to-drink coffees to raise more revenue and tackle obesity.
