BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A man wanted for not registering as a sex offender was recently arrested by Buckeye police after he allegedly harassed a 12-year-old girl.

Police said 48-year-old Adrian Villareal was taken into custody on an active warrant for not registering as a sex offender after he was identified as the person allegedly seen harassing a girl as she walked to her bus stop on Nov. 21.

Employees of a local daycare told Buckeye police that a man was seen trying to talk to the girl so they let her inside the daycare as she waited for her school bus to arrive. An officer later spotted Villareal near the daycare and he allegedly fled. After a brief standoff, he was eventually detained.
