BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Hamburg man is going to prison for killing a pedestrian in the City of Tonawanda and crashing into several vehicles.
According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, on Tuesday morning, Mark G. Whalen, 32, was given the maximum sentence on each count of the indictment and sentenced as a second felony offender to 10-20 years in prison.
District Attorney Michael Keane says on Monday, November 11, 2024, shortly before 8 a.m., the Town of Evans Police Department received multiple calls about a minivan, driven by Whalen, speeding and crossing into oncoming traffic. One caller claimed Whalen rear-ended them and continued driving.
Town of Hamburg Police were able to find the minivan and tried to pull it over. however, they ultimately ended the pursuit once Whalen got
