A 41-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on November 21 in Kingston, prompting a multi-agency investigation and anticipated criminal charges. The victim was struck by an SUV while crossing the Boulevard near Stewarts, outside of a marked crosswalk, shortly before 2 p.m. The driver fled the scene but was located soon after.
Emergency crews from the Kingston Fire Department transported the injured person to HealthAlliance Hospital before a transfer to Westchester Medical Center due to the extent of their injuries.
The Kingston Police Department is leading the investigation with support from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police. Authorities have confirmed that charges are likely to be filed against the SUV’s driver or registered owner.
