The FFAW accuses the Association of Seafood Producers of trying to draw the union into arbitration which could delay rebate payments to harvesters.

That in turn, claims the union, will allow processors to “sit on millions of dollars that belong in the pockets of harvesters.”

The FFAW says the parties met with the panel earlier this month after ASP attempted to have cold storage and broker fees excluded from the receipt price.

The panel cannot write an analysis or clarification of its own decision, meaning if there is a dispute, it has to go to arbitration or re-consideration.
