Another serious case of child abuse has emerged in Pontiac where a couple is accused of starving two young boys in their care. They’re now facing multiple criminal charges that could land them in prison for life.
The children — a 9-year-old weighing just 33 pounds and an 11-year-old weighing just 43 pounds — are approximately 30 to 40 pounds below the average weight of kids their age, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Auturo Bazan-Perez, 43, and his wife, Dulce Crystal Bazan Castillo, 42, are each charged with multiple counts of first-degree child abuse and child torture against the two boys. They’re held in the Oakland County Jail, denied bond.
