Music fans are seething over an AI-generated “singer.”
Songs credited to an artist named Solomon Ray entered iTunes’ Top 100 Christian and gospel albums chart last week — but the hits weren’t created by a human.
Ray’s voice, lyrics and persona were completely crafted through artificial intelligence, according to the creator’s official Instagram account.
Ray is described in a Spotify profile as a “Mississippi-made soul singer carrying a Southern soul revival into the present.”
Some of Ray’s albums garnering millions of streams include “A Soulful Christmas” and “Faithful Soul.”
The creator behind Ray’s avatar isn’t hiding the fact that the rising musician isn’t a real person.
