Brett R. Hamm initially studied for a bachelor’s degree in political science at Brigham Young University before going on to Idaho State University where he enrolled in pre-medical studies. His switch into law came a bit out of the blue following his work on a political campaign.

“Several years after I worked on the EchoHawk for Governor campaign, while I was taking pre-med courses at Idaho State University, Larry EchoHawk called and invited me to apply at the law school where he was teaching,” Hamm shared. “I applied, got in and the rest is history.”

By 2000, Hamm had completed his Juris Doctor at J. Reuben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah. He returned to Idaho where he began his law career by serving as law clerk to Chief Justice Trough with the Idaho Supreme Cour
