MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday that one of its employees, who is facing a DUI charge, has been fired.
MCSO said employee Joshua Woods was involved in a crash while off-duty on Nov. 21. After the crash, Woods was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where Tennessee Highway Patrol charged him with driving under the influence.

The next day, MCSO fired Woods for violating the Professional Conduct and Responsibility section of the Monroe County Sheriff’s General Orders.
According to the sheriff’s office, Woods has been with MCSO for 17 years and was serving as a court services deputy at the time of the crash.
