Cromwell police are warning the public to be on the lookout after a string of rim and tire thefts in town.

The police department said the thefts have been targeting specific car models on Cromwell Hills and Woodland Drive.

The targeted vehicles are Honda's, Acura's and Infiniti's, according to police.

On Nov. 14, police responded to reports of two cars found resting on blocks with all four rims and tires removed. A second incident happened on Tuesday, when two more cars were found in the same condition, authorities said.

The thefts happened in the overnight hours and in each case, thieves removed the rims and tires quickly and efficiently. Police believe this suggests that the suspects used specialized tools.
