PLAINFIELD, CT. (WFSB) - A man is facing multiple charges after police said they found cocaine and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
31-year-old Todd Wakefield was arrested at around 2:39 a.m. after officers stopped a silver Jeep in the area of South Main Street in the Moosup section of Plainfield.
Police said that drug paraphernalia was visible inside the vehicle, prompting officers to detain Wakefield and search the car. The search turned up around 9.3 grams of cocaine and a loaded HK USP .45 handgun with two high-capacity magazines.
Officers determined that he was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Police said further investigation revealed that Wakefield was subject to a court-ordered protective order that prohibits him fro
