GREENFIELD, Ind. — A Hancock County judge sentenced a man from Knightstown to 32 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of a hit-and-run crash that left a teen with a traumatic brain injury.
Aaron Magee, 35, was sentenced to 12 years for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in catastrophic injury and 20 years for being a habitual offender.
The jury deliberated for just an hour-and-a-half Oct. 24 before returning with the verdict against Magee for his role in catastrophic injury to Jasper Young, who was 13 at the time of the crash.
"The fact that it came back so quickly was a surprise,” said Heather Young, Jasper’s mother, of the verdict.
