The Toronto Blue Jays are moving on from 29-year-old pitcher Easton Lucas.
The Blue Jays announced on Tuesday afternoon that Lucas has been placed on unconditional waivers. The move will create an open spot on the Jays’ 40-man roster.
Lucas has been a member of the Jays organization since being claimed off waivers from the Detroit Tigers late in the 2024 season. He went on to pitch 4.2 innings for the Jays after the claim to close out the season, giving up six earned runs.
The left-throwing reliever was unable to earn a spot on the Jays roster out of camp to begin the 2025 season, but was recalled in April. He wound up making five starts for the Blue Jays, where he put up a 6.66 ERA and a 3-3 record through 24.1 innings.
