When it comes to looking after her loved ones, Kate Beckinsale is a perfect mother hen.
The British and Critics' Choice-nominated actress, 52, recalled a shocking health discovery from her daughter's boyfriend during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Monday, Nov. 24. Beckinsale shares daughter Lily Mo Sheen, 26, with former partner Michael Sheen.
"We've had a tough couple of years. Both my parents passed away within the last few years, and literally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him," Beckinsale told host Jimmy Kimmel. "He laid two eggs in a week is what the bright spot was."
A skeptical Kimmel then asked Beckinsale to clarify what she meant by laying eggs, after which the "Wildcat" star explained that a whole egg, including a "shell and a yolk," passed through the man's body.
"He went to the bathroom and then was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg," Beckinsale continued, adding that her daughter's unnamed beau was "genuinely scared." "I got very involved in this because I really did need a distraction because everything was so horrible."
A representative for Beckinsale declined to comment on Beckinsale's interview.
Although Beckinsale had her doubts at first, she said Lily sent her photos after her boyfriend laid the second egg, which she reportedly showed to Kimmel and sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez during the interview.
"What in the world?" Kimmel said. "Your daughter's boyfriend is the Easter Bunny!"
Beckinsale added that she consulted with several doctors about the man's alleged condition and said they speculated the incident could have stemmed from "some sort of complicated masturbation thing."
"So, it's my favorite thing he's ever done, and I really like him," Beckinsale said. "But it's been a while, and I'm ready for another one."
