DENTON, Texas — After leading the Mean Green to its best season ever, UNT head coach Eric Morris will take his talents from Denton to Stillwater.
Morris is expected to become the next coach at Oklahoma State, sources told WFAA's Joe Trahan . OSU has been without a head coach since September after the program fired Mike Gundy, who had been with the Cowboys for 21 seasons.
According to UNT, Morris will coach the team through the postseason — welcome news to Mean Green fans as the team looks to a probable American Conference championship game and a potential College Football Playoff appearance.
UNT has gone 10-1 so far this season; their only loss was a 63-36 blowout from South Florida. The team takes on a 5-6 Temple team on a three-game skid on Friday.
