DALLAS — Editor's note: Police originally reported the driver had fled the scene, but have since updated that information.

Dallas police are investigating a pedestrian accident Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to an accident call around 4:10 p.m. There, police found that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. The driver remained on the scene, according to the department.

DPD said Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded and took the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
