A 63-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle and killed while he was walking in the 4800 block of East State Street on Nov. 24 has been identified.

Clark Robinson was hit around 5 a.m.

According to a release from the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office , Robinson died from blunt trauma to the chest. More: Prosecutors decline to charge Rockford tourism leader after DUI arrest

The driver, who was not identified, remained on the scene.

First responders from the Rockford Police and Fire departments treated Robinson at the scene before he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Robinson was pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m.

The case remains under investigation.
