Rick Pitino doesn’t like to lose and it can be tricky asking him questions after a defeat.

Matt Norlander of CBS Sports found that out after No. 14 St. John’s lost to No. 15 Iowa State, 83-82, Monday night in the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas.

Norlander asked Pitino a question about the timeout situation late in the game, and the Hall of Fame coach immediately shut him down.

“We had two timeouts in the last minute, one for an injury and one they called,” Pitino said. “That question is ridiculous, so go to the next one.”

Norlander then proceeded to ask a follow-up question about the impact of point guard Dylan Darling fouling out.
