The Vancouver City Council has approved another budget increase for the PNE Amphitheatre.
The adjustment amounts to a $46.16-million price hike for the project, which includes construction of the new outdoor Freedom Mobile Arch.
The total cost is now estimated at $183 million, which is nearly triple the initial price tag of just under $65 million.
City council already approved the adjusted budget in May this year in an in-camera meeting, but only made this public after the city posted updated financial details in October.
The new amphitheater, which is still under construction, is set to host the FIFA World Cup Fan Fest in June 2026, and additional funding has also been approved to meet that deadline.
