FLINT, MI – The only thing that matters is family, because it’s the only thing that really, really, really makes you happy.
Those were the words of Genesee County Probate Judge Jennie Barkey on Tuesday afternoon as she presided over an Adoption Day event, with four families coming to the finish line of the process.
“Today, all their trying, all their effort brings us here,” Barkey said. “It doesn’t get better than that.”
Nov. 25 was proclaimed as Adoption Day in Michigan this year by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Each family shared a bit about their journey, their struggles, and their love for the new additions.
