Recreation infrastructure, affordable housing and supports for unhoused Calgarians were the top issues raised by residents and community groups to city council during the second day of 2026 budget deliberations on Tuesday.
The public hearing, which began Monday and was slated to include more than 130 speakers, has seen Calgarians and representatives from various community organizations either urge council to bolster funding commitments for certain initiatives or rein in city spending.
