ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — One person died after being hit by a train in Rockdale County early Tuesday morning.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the scene between Deere Drive and Earl O'Neal Park around 4:45 a.m.

Dispatch received a call from the train conductor about the incident. The person who was hit died from their injuries, APD said.

Their identity has not yet been released. No other details are available.
