DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — Millions of people are hitting the road for Thanksgiving this year , with more drivers expected than ever before.

Among them is one North Texas man who learned the hard way about the consequences of drinking and driving. Now, he dedicates time to warning others not to take the same road he once did.

“If you’re wondering whether or not you’re sober enough to drive, then you’re probably not sober," Greg Florez said.

He shared that drinking and driving turned his life around, but only after it turned everything upside down.

“The beginning of the end for me in 2007, I think it was. That was when I got out of the penitentiary for my third DWI. And I thought that if I could not drive once I’ve been drinking, that I had this licked,” Florez said.
