Some sad news hit the sports world on Tuesday, as Colleen Jones has passed away at the age of 65.
Jones is well known in Canada thanks to her iconic curling career. She served as the skip for two women’s world championship teams and recorded six Scotties Tournament of Hearts championships. She held the record for the most Tournament of Hearts wins at 152 before eventually being surpassed by Jennifer Jones in 2021.
Jones is widely considered one of the greatest curlers in Canadian history and was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
Away from the sheet, Jones was also well known for her work as a reporter and weather presenter for CBC. She also served as a curling analyst for NBC.
