LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The holiday travel rush is officially underway, and AAA says this Thanksgiving could be among the busiest we’ve seen. Nearly 82 million people are expected to travel, 73 million by car, and more than 6 million by plane.
At Louisville's airport, leaders say they’re geared up for the influx, with more than 36,000 outbound seats scheduled between Wednesday and Sunday. It may not break records, but it’s still one of the airport’s heaviest travel windows, and plenty of people are already heading out early.
“We've heard how big the travel day is going to be tomorrow, so we're hoping to sneak back out a little early,” said Rita Murphy.
