A fire displaced six adults Tuesday, Nov. 25, in an unincorporated area just outside Palm Springs.

The fire was in the 60 block of Bonanza Road, off Highway 111 not far from Interstate 10. It was first reported at 11:55 a.m., with the first crew arriving to what it described as "heavy smoke" coming from a single-story home, the Riverside County Fire Department said. The department said the fire was "quickly knocked down" at 12:25 p.m.

Injuries were not immediately reported, and the Red Cross was requested to assist the six adults.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
