MARLIN, Texas — As Marlin residents prepare for major changes to their water bills next year, 6 News spoke directly with Mayor Susan Byrd to clarify why rates are rising and what the city is doing to address long-standing issues with its troubled water system.
For years, Marlin has faced chronic water problems — including low pressure, major leaks, boil-water notices and a statewide disaster declaration. Many residents have questioned whether the city is actively pursuing state funding to fix the system.
